JTC, Kajima Launch Pilot to Test Autonomous Construction Equipment in Singapore

JTC Corporation and Japan-based Kajima (TYO:1812) have launched the first pilot project to test autonomous heavy construction equipment in Singapore, according to a Thursday release.

The Singapore government agency said that the autonomous machine tests, initially covering excavators and compactors, will be held at Jurong Innovation District, a test site for validating autonomous construction equipment under real site conditions.

The project targets a 50% reduction in skilled operators required under the trial.
