By

JSW Energy (NSE:JSWENERGY, BOM:533148) has agreed to acquire the entire equity stake in Maruti Clean Coal & Power at an enterprise value of 14.1 billion Indian rupees, according to a Saturday filing to the Indian stock exchanges.

The shares will be acquired from Kolahai Infotech and SFI Parcel Services, subject to necessary regulatory and customary approvals.

Maruti Clean owns and operates a 300 MW thermal power plant in Korba, Chhattisgarh, India, with a long-term power purchase agreement for 195 MW with Rajasthan-based power distribution companies.

The plant also provides 5% power at variable cost to the Chhattisgarh power distribution companies, and the remaining 64 MW capacity is sold in the merchant market.

The acquired asset's earnings for fiscal year 2026 are estimated at 2.79 billion rupees. The plant's proximity to JSW Energy's Mahanadi thermal plant will also help strengthen operational synergies, the company said.
