JSW Cement (NSE:JSWCEMENT, BOM:544480) received board approval to set up an additional cement grinding capacity of 2.5 million tons per annum (MTPA) in Nagaur, a city in the Indian state of Rajasthan, according to a Wednesday filing to the Indian stock exchanges.
The investment required for the project is estimated at 4.30 billion rupees, and it is expected to be commissioned by January 2028.
The company's current cement grinding capacity in Nagaur is 2.5 MTPA, with another 1 MTPA grinding capacity under implementation.
The move is aimed at increasing the utilization of the Nagaur clinker line.
The company's shares were up over 7% in recent trade.
