The attributable profit a year earlier was almost 678 million yuan, or 0.210 yuan per share.
Operating revenue rose 27% to 4.16 billion yuan from 3.28 billion yuan in the previous year.
The Chinese molybdenum miner's shares jumped less than 7% at the close.
