JetBlue Airways (JBLU) said Thursday it plans to launch its first-ever nonstop service between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Simon Bolivar International Airport in Caracas, Venezuela.
The proposed route is subject to government approval and completion of required regulatory processes in Venezuela, the company added.
The flight will connect Caracas with JetBlue's Fort Lauderdale focus city, expanding travel options between South Florida and Latin America, JetBlue said. The service will be operated on Airbus A320 aircraft. The route is expected to start before year-end, with tickets going on sale in the coming months, the airline said.
