Offshore wind developer JERA Nex bp has completed the acquisition of Sumitomo Corporation's stakes in the operational Nobelwind and Northwester 2 wind farms, consolidating its long-term asset ownership portfolio in Belgium.
The transaction hands JERA Nex bp 100% ownership of the 219-megawatt Northwester 2 project via the buyout of Sumitomo's 30% interest, the company stated.
The joint venture also acquired Sumitomo's 39.02% holding in the 165 MW Nobelwind project, raising its total ownership stake to 80.1%, it said.
Both assets are centrally developed, constructed, and operated from JERA Nex bp's primary operations hub located in Ostend, Belgium.
