Jazz Pharmaceuticals (JAZZ) said Tuesday that the US Food and Drug Administration approved two of its Ziihera-containing regimens to treat adults with unresectable locally advanced or metastatic HER2-positive gastroesophageal adenocarcinoma, a type of cancer.
The two regimens are Ziihera plus Tevimbra and chemotherapy for all HER2-positive patients, and Ziihera plus chemotherapy alone for those with IHC 3+ disease, the company said.
Jazz said that the approval was based on results from its Phase 3 HERIZON-GEA-01 trial, which showed significant improvements in progression-free survival and overall survival.
Shares of the company were up 2.5% in early Tuesday trading.
