The South Korean government's push for more offshore wind power capacity will receive varying sentiments from producers, S&P Global Ratings said in a Tuesday release.Players may not see ample potential returns from the projects to compensate for the protracted and complicated review processes and associated execution risks, S&P said.The government is looking at offshore wind power to boost energy self-sufficiency and the country's capacity for use cases, including AI data centers, with a goal of a tenfold increase in the capacity by 2030, according to the rating agency.While government-linked entities have committed to the efforts, they have only allotted a small portion of their capital expenditure, S&P credit analyst Ji Cheng said.The analyst expects a minimal credit impact from the measure given the low single-digit percentage of capex allotment to wind power.
Meinian Onehealth to Pay Deposit for Bangjie's Capital Reserves
Meinian Onehealth Healthcare (SHE:002044) agreed to pay deposit for the creation of capital reserves of Zhejiang Bangjie Holding Group as part of its reorganization, according to a Shenzhen bourse filing on Tuesday.In January, the healthcare services provider agreed to participate in the public solicitation of restructuring investors for Bangjie. It will own stake in Bangjie through its subsidiary, Meinian Onehealth Healthcare Industry (Group).Meinian planned to create a capital reserve of 650 million yuan with other investors by acquiring and waiving the third party's claims against Bangjie.The company's shares fell 4% at the close.
Mazda, Nippon Express Run Trial for Biodiesel Fuel Use
Mazda Motor (TYO:7261) and Nippon Express (TYO:9147) have launched a demonstration trial using biodiesel fuel (HVO) for finished vehicle transport trailers.Mazda is aiming to achieve carbon neutrality across its entire supply chain by 2050, while the NX Group is working toward a carbon-neutral society, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Tuesday.The demonstration trial is conducted between Hofu's Nishinoura district plant and Nakanoseki finished vehicle yard, about a 12 km round trip, through the end of the year, evaluating fuel efficiency, performance, and operational challenges.The biodiesel fuel will be procured by NX Shoji, with trailers operated under conditions equivalent to conventional diesel.Going forward, Mazda will collaborate with fuel suppliers and regionally rooted businesses to expand demand, enhance supply systems, and build a sustainable environment for long-term HVO use.
