Japanese stocks maintained their positive run to close in the green as global stocks climbed on renewed investor momentum towards artificial intelligence trade, driving semiconductor shares.
Benchmark Nikkei 225 closed up 2,342.91 points, or 3.66%, at 66,300.44.
Oil prices fell as energy flows from the Strait of Hormuz recovered to about 45% of pre-war levels following a temporary Middle East truce, easing tensions and raising hopes for a possible US-Iran deal.
On the corporate side, Honda Motor (TYO:7267) recorded a 129% rise in attributable profit in the first fiscal quarter to 450.9 billion yen from 196.7 billion yen a year prior, according to a Tokyo Stock Exchange filing on Wednesday.
Also, Suzuki Motor (TYO:7269) posted an 80% year-over-year rise in attributable profit for the fiscal first quarter to 183.6 billion yen from 102.0 billion yen.
