Japanese shares opened higher Monday morning, tracking the rally among semiconductor-related stocks in the US in the last session.
The Nikkei 225 opened 579.5 points or 0.9% higher at 65,600.42.
SoftBank Group (TYO:9984) led gains among Japan's tech stocks, rising as much as 7.8% in early trade.
Markets now turn attention to U.S. inflation data this week, following Friday's stronger-than-expected jobs report that raised expectations for a Federal Reserve rate hike this month.
