Japan's Fair Trade Commission has closed its investigation into Broadcom after failing to find sufficient evidence of antitrust violations related to server virtualization licensing for cloud providers.
The probe, launched around April 2024, examined whether Broadcom abused its bargaining position or engaged in unlawful bundling of software products, according to a statement on the commission's website.
Broadcom has voluntarily committed to providing sufficient prior notice and engaging in good-faith negotiations with cloud service providers before implementing any materially disadvantageous contract changes, the statement read.
Broadcom did not immediately respond to MTNewswire's request for comments.
