Japan Earnings Wrap: Asahi Intecc Rises; Ebara, Rakus Slide

Japanese stocks reporting earnings traded mixed on Monday, with gains led by biomedical device manufacturers while industrial machine makers and information technology companies declined.

Asahi Intecc's (TYO:7747) shares gained over 5% after profit attributable to owners of the parent jumped 152% to 32.1 billion yen in the fiscal year ended June 30.

The medical device developer and manufacturer's basic earnings per share rose to 120.59 yen from 46.92 yen, while net sales for the 12 months jumped 21% to 145.4 billion yen.

For the fiscal year ending June 30, 2027, it expects an 18% jump in attributable profit to 37.8 billion yen, or 142.59 yen per share, and an 11% increase in net sales to 161.8 billion yen.

Meanwhile, Ebara's (TYO:6361) shares fell nearly 9% after recording a 7.1% rise in attributable profit in the first half to 33.6 billion yen, or 73.48 yen per share.

Revenue for the six months jumped 9.4% to 490.8 billion yen.

For the year ending Dec. 31, the company expects attributable profit of 99.5 billion yen, up 29.8%; basic EPS of 217.93 yen; and revenue of 1.053 trillion yen, up 9.9%. It expects to pay a total dividend of 66 yen per share for the full fiscal year.

Elsewere, Rakus' (TYO:3923) shares dropped over 6% after consolidated sales slipped 1.6% year on year in July to 4.85 billion yen.

Sales at the company's cloud business climbed 16% to 4.85 billion yen, while monthly recurring revenue increased 17% to 4.52 billion yen.
