Jacobs (J), a technical professional services firm, will support German transmission system operator TransnetBW in its seven-year grid expansion program, it said on Thursday.
Under a multidisciplinary framework agreement, Jacobs said it will provide support services throughout the full project lifecycle, starting from early-stage planning and environmental assessment to engineering, procurement, and construction.
Meanwhile, TransnetBW will remain responsible for project governance, according to the statement.
Jacobs' major projects in Germany include the SuedLink, a 700-kilometer underground power cable valued at around $11 billion.
