The BSE Sensex rose 544.15 points, or 0.7%, to close at 76,808.48, while the NSE Nifty 50 gained 135.25 points, or 0.6%, to settle at 23,989.15.
The proposed U.S.-Iran peace agreement lifted sentiment across markets as easing energy supply concerns pushed crude oil prices lower. Investors are now awaiting the formal signing of the deal, which is expected to bring an end to the conflict in the Gulf region.
In corporate developments, Tata Consultancy Services (NSE:TCS, BOM:532540) said it expects to record an additional one-time charge of $70 million in the first quarter of fiscal 2027 related to its ongoing legal dispute with DXC Technology. The disclosure follows the U.S. Supreme Court's decision not to review the case.
