India's Ministry of Power approved exporting up to 654 MW of electricity to Nepal for 18 hours a day through Dec. 31, according to a government statement on Monday.
The approval covers up to 600 MW through the Muzaffarpur-Dhalkebar 400 kV line and up to 54 MW through the Tanakpur-Mahendranagar 132 kV line.
Nepal's recent floods have damaged hydropower infrastructure and reduced domestic generation capacity, creating additional electricity demand.

South Korea's main stock market, the Korea Exchange, will enable trading till 8 pm following the regular close at 3:30 pm from Monday, in its move toward 24-hour trading, Bloomberg News reported Sunday.This decision opens 2,400 Korea Composite Stock Price Index, or Kospi, and Kosdaq stocks for evening trades, which include short-selling.
