Idemitsu Kosan's (TYO:5019) profit attributable to owners of the parent shot up 696% to 217.5 billion yen for the fiscal first quarter from 27.3 billion yen a year earlier.
The oil refiner's basic earnings per share jumped to 179.63 yen from 22.31 yen a year ago, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Friday.
Revenue rose 24% to 2.272 trillion yen for the three months ended June 30 from 1.836 trillion yen.
For the fiscal year ending March 31, 2027, the company expects income attributable to owners of the parent of 75 billion yen, basic EPS of 62 yen, and income attributable to owners of the parent excluding inventory impact of 90 billion yen.
The company plans to pay interim and year-end dividends of 18 yen per share, each, totaling 36 yen for the fiscal year.
