Hyundai Engineering & Construction (KRX:000720) is joining a national project led by the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment to develop design technology for water electrolysis plants exceeding 100MW.
The project aims to secure design packages for large-scale hydrogen production, spanning system and core process design through operational configuration, according to a statement on Friday.
Hyundai E&C is leading a consortium that includes Hyundai Engineering, Hyundai Motor (KRX:005380), Hanwha Global, Korea Midland Power, the Institute for Future Standards, Seoul National University, and Korea University.
The project plans to apply AI and dynamic simulation models to address renewable energy output variability and improve plant stability and reliability.
