Hybio Pharmaceutical (SHE:300199) signed a cooperation agreement with Zhejiang Sunshine Mandi Pharmaceutical for the development and marketing of products related to semaglutide injection, according to a Shenzhen bourse filing on Thursday.
Both parties will co-develop a semaglutide injection in a cartridge with an adjustable injection pen, which will cater to adult patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
The Chinese pharmaceutical company will receive an upfront signing payment of 12 million yuan from Sunshine Mandi, then 18 million yuan upon the drug regulator's approval and 7.5 million yuan upon approval of the first commercial batch.
Sunshine Mandi will be given exclusive rights to market the product in China region.
Hybio completed the phase III clinical trial of semaglutide injection in China.
Hybio's shares rose 2% at the close.
