Huaibei Mining Completes Second Coal-Fired Unit to Boost Power Capacity

Huaibei Mining (SHA:600985) said Unit One of its 2×660-megawatt ultra-supercritical coal-fired power project has passed the 168-hour trial run and officially entered commercial operation.

The unit, built by subsidiary Juneng Power in Anhui, China performed reliably with all technical indicators meeting design standards, according to a Tuesday filing with the Shanghai bourse.

With both units now operational, the project can generate 5.94 billion kilowatt-hours annually.

Shares of the miner closed 5% lower Tuesday.
