Hong Kong stocks opened higher on Wednesday, with technology shares leading the advance as investors awaited Nvidia's quarterly results.
The Hang Seng Index rose 0.5%, or 124.14 points, to 25,635.24, while the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index gained 0.7%, or 55.18 points, to 8,500.55.
Investors are watching Nvidia's results due after the market close for signs of continued strength in AI-related demand.
Meanwhile, oil prices fell sharply as traders assessed the impact of expanded U.S. sanctions on Iran, while also awaiting key U.S. inflation data and Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh's speech at Jackson Hole later this week.
