Hong Kong stocks closed slightly higher on Tuesday as optimism about the upcoming Trump-Xi meeting boosted investor sentiment.
The Hang Seng Index rose 45.04 points, or 0.2%, to close at 25,087.75, while the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index gained 22.97 points, or 0.3%, to finish at 8,362.60.
Investors also looked ahead to a meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping later this week.
Markets are watching for signs the two sides can extend their trade truce and deepen cooperation in areas including artificial intelligence.
Sentiment also improved after Trump said he was open to meeting Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian during the U.N. General Assembly in New York.
Oil prices steadied after falling more than 3% in the previous session, with Brent crude at $100.65 a barrel.
In corporate news, Ligent Technologies (HKG:9856) made its debut in Hong Kong, closing nearly 5% higher at HK$34.48, compared with the offer price of HK$32.96.
