Hong Kong stocks opened lower on Friday as investor concerns over elevated valuations of artificial intelligence-related companies overshadowed upbeat earnings from chipmakers.
The Hang Seng Index fell 0.5%, or 124.82 points, to 22,952.09, while the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index lost 0.4%, or 33.20 points, to 7,575.18.
On Wall Street, the S&P 500 finished little changed while the Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced, supported by gains in industrial, healthcare, and materials stocks.
Investors also remained focused on the interest rate outlook, with markets continuing to price in further policy tightening by the U.S. Federal Reserve.
