Hon Hai Precision Industry (TPE:2317) unit Cloud Network Technology Singapore acquired 727.5 million shares in Ingrasys Technology Mexico for $39.5 million, according to a Thursday Taiwan Exchange filing.
Shares gained 1% in Friday's midday trade.
The transaction is a long-term investment funded through internal capital.
Following the deal, Cloud Network Technology Singapore holds a 39.6% stake in Ingrasys Technology Mexico, the filing said.
Winbond Electronics (TPE:2344) will procure machinery equipment worth about NT$2.3 billion from Applied Materials, according to a Thursday Taiwan Exchange filing.Shares jumped about 10% in Friday's late morning trade.The equipment will be used for for production purposes, it said.

China Bohai Bank (HKG:9668) completed the issuance of 9 billion yuan in tier 2 capital bonds in China's interbank bond market, according to a Thursday Hong Kong bourse filing.Shares of the lender were up more than 1% in late morning trade on Friday.The bonds are 10-year fixed-rate notes with an issuer redemption option at the end of the fifth year and carry a coupon rate of 2.10%.The bank said proceeds from the issuance will be used entirely to replenish its tier 2 capital.
