Holtec Nuclear plans to raise about $900 million in a US initial public offering, the nuclear supplier said on Tuesday.
The company said it plans to offer 50 million shares of Class A common stock at an expected price of $15 to $18 per share, implying proceeds of up to $900 million before underwriting discounts and expenses.
Separately, Holtec secured a contract to supply 41 additional systems for the safe transport and storage of spent nuclear fuel from Ukraine's state nuclear operator Energoatom.
The contract, signed on Aug. 26, covers the Khmelnitsky, Rivne and South Ukraine nuclear power plants and extends cooperation between Holtec and Energoatom that began more than two decades ago.
Holtec will supply multi-purpose canister-based dry-storage systems, including equipment used to transport and store spent fuel at Ukraine's centralized interim storage facility.
The company said its systems have moved spent fuel from Ukraine's nine reactors to the centralized facility, helping the country store used nuclear fuel domestically.
Holtec CEO Kris Singh said the company remained committed to supporting Ukraine's energy infrastructure and would also work with Energoatom to deploy its proposed SMR-300 small modular reactors in the country.
Energoatom said the arrangement would help it avoid about $200 million a year in costs associated with transporting and storing spent fuel outside Ukraine.
The company did not disclose the value of the Ukraine contract.
