Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) CEO Eddie Yue said in a statement that a rate hike by the U.S. Federal Reserve, which led to a rate increase by the HKMA to 4.25%, was in line with expectations.
Hong Kong's monetary and financial markets have continued to operate in an orderly manner, he added in a Thursday statement.
Investors should, however, exercise caution as a considerable level of uncertainty around US interest rate adjustments may influence the interest rate environment in Hong Kong.
