Hitachi Subsidiary to Build $528 Million Transformer Manufacturing Facility in Mississippi; Shares Rise 3%

Hitachi (TYO:6501) subsidiary Hitachi Energy plans to build a new $528 million transformer manufacturing facility in Gallman, Mississippi, with production expected to begin in 2029, Hitachi said in a Tuesday release.

Construction is expected to begin in late 2026. Production of transformers will shift from Hitachi Energy's existing Crystal Springs facility to the new Gallman factory once construction is completed, the release said.

Shares of Hitachi rose nearly 3% in recent trade.
