Hitachi Energy India (NSE:POWERINDIA, BOM:543187) said it will invest about 20 billion rupees to set up a large power transformer manufacturing facility at Karjan in Vadodara, Gujarat, according to a regulatory filing with Indian stock exchanges on Friday.
The plant is expected to be completed in fiscal 2028 and will produce power transformers for applications including high-voltage transmission, HVDC systems, power generation, data centres, and other industrial projects, the filing said.
The company said the investment aims to meet accelerating demand for transmission infrastructure and power equipment in India.
Shares of the company rose over 3% in recent trade.
