Hitachi Ceases to be Major Shareholder of Hitachi Construction Machinery; SMBC Nikko takes 10.1% stake

Hitachi Construction Machinery (TYO:6305) has ceased to be a major shareholder of Hitachi Construction Machinery, reducing its voting rights from 10.1% to zero, effective Aug. 19.

SMBC Nikko Securities simultaneously became a major shareholder with a 10.1% voting stake, holding 21.5 million shares, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Wednesday.

SMBC Nikko then ceased to be a major shareholder on the same day, returning to near-zero holdings after transferring the shares it had aggregated for the sale.
