The Highlands Council has approved a planning application for the onshore infrastructure linked to Qair's proposed 1-gigawatt Ayre floating wind farm off Caithness and Orkney, the company said on Wednesday.
The clearance covers the land-based components required to support the offshore development, marking a key milestone for the project, which is part of Scotland's wider ScotWind leasing round.
The Scottish government has recently completed a consultation on the offshore consent application for the project, submitted in December. The ScotWind developments are expected to begin coming online in the early 2030s.
