Heron Neutron Medical Corp (TPE:7799) said its B10 L-BPA injection received approval from the Taiwan Food and Drug Administration, Ministry of Health and Welfare, for Phase I/II investigator-initiated clinical trials of cancer treatment, according to a Wednesday filing to the Taiwan stock exchange.
With this approval, the company will initiate Phase I and Phase II investigator-initiated human clinical trials of B10 L-BPA injection as neoadjuvant therapy for locally advanced oral cancer.
Investigator-initiated trials are primarily conducted for scientific or medical research purposes and are generally initiated and led by medical institutions, academic institutions, or investigators. The company primarily acts as the sponsor, providing resources and support for such academic research, Heron said.
The company's shares were up nearly 8% in recent trade.
