Hero MotoCorp (NSE:HEROMOTOCO, BOM:500182) approved the purchase of additional shares in electric two-wheeler maker Ather Energy (NSE:ATHERENERG, BSE:544397) for up to 17.6 billion rupees, according to a Thursday exchange filing.
The acquisition is expected to be completed by Sept. 3 and will be funded in cash.
Hero MotoCorp's stake in Ather will rise to about 32.8% from 29.88% on a fully diluted basis.
