HD Korea Shipbuilding Dismisses Report on HD Hyundai JV with Cochin Shipyard; Shares Decline 6%

HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (KRX:009540) dismissed a report by The Financial News that claimed parent HD Hyundai (KRX:267250) had established a joint venture with an Indian shipbuilder, according to a Tuesday filing with the Korea Exchange.

The South Korean shipbuilder said that it had signed a memorandum of understanding with Cochin Shipyard (BOM:540678, NSE:COCHINSHIP) in July 2025, but no concrete decision has been made on establishing a JV shipbuilding company, as mentioned in The Financial News.

Shares of HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering fell nearly 6% in recent trade, while those of Cochin Shipyard added nearly 2%.
