HD Hyundai (KRX:267250) held its first meeting with US-based TerraPower and South Korea-based Hyundai Engineering & Construction (KRX: 000720) under a joint initiative program to accelerate commercialization of Natrium reactors in the US market, according to a PR Newswire release on Monday.
The three companies signed a memorandum of understanding in May to cooperate on next-generation sodium reactor projects, bringing better access to the US small modular reactor market.
As part of the project, HD Hyundai will boost its capacity to produce two to three primary Natrium components annually, deepening South Korea and the United States' nuclear cooperation, the report said.
