HD Hyundai Heavy Dock Partially Suspended After Fatal Workplace Accident

Regulators on July 19 ordered a partial work suspension at HD Hyundai Heavy Industries (KRX:329180) shipbuilding dock, halting all gondola operations following a fatal workplace accident a day earlier, according to a Monday stock exchange filing.

A worker died on July 18 at the company's shipbuilding division outer dock after being trapped between a gondola and an upper platform.

Police and labor authorities are investigating the accident and reviewing related documents.

HD Hyundai said it will conduct company-wide safety training and implement measures to prevent similar incidents.
