HD Hyundai Electric (KRX:267260) said it has developed South Korea's first 420-kilovolt-class circuit breaker, replacing sulfur hexafluoride, a potent greenhouse gas, with a C4-based gas mixture, The Korean Times reported Monday.
The company said that replacing sulfur hexafluoride, used in high-voltage circuit breakers, will reduce environmental impact and help expand its environmentally friendly power equipment offerings in the European market, the report added.
