HBIS (SHE:000709), through unit Hebei Iron & Steel Laoting Steel, will construct a hot-rolled heavy plate production line for 7.97 billion yuan, according to a Shenzhen bourse filing on Friday.
The plant will produce 2.42 million tons of 5,600-millimeter hot-rolled heavy plates every year.
The construction is expected to run for 24 months.
The Chinese iron and steel maker's shares fell 2% at the close.
