Hanwha Ocean (KRX:042660) secured a 1.553 trillion won contract for six container ships from Yang Ming Marine Transport Corp., according to a Thursday filing with the Korea Exchange.
The value of the contract equates to about 12.1% of the shipbuilder's sales in the recent fiscal year.
The contract is valid until Sept. 30, 2029, with payments to be made based on construction progress.
Shares of Hanwha Ocean added over 3% in recent trade.

Viva Goods (HKG:0933) has purchased 29.6 million shares of Chinese sportswear giant Li Ning (HKG:2331) for HK$398.4 million as an investment, according to a Tuesday bourse filing.The company said it bought the shares through open market transactions at an average price of HK$13.45 apiece.Following the transaction, Viva's stakeholding in Li Ning rose to 16.9%, with ownership of 437.2 million shares.
