Hainan Airlines' (SHA:600221) passenger traffic increased 1.5% year over year to 13.1 billion revenue passenger kilometers (RPK), according to a Saturday filing with the Shanghai bourse.
Domestic traffic jumped 2.2% year over year, while international traffic slipped 1.5%.
The carrier's passenger capacity input, measured in available seat kilometers, edged up 0.7% year over year.
Cargo and mail turnover, measured in revenue ton-kilometers, increased 0.3% year over year. The cargo and mail load factor rose 7.74 percentage points to 58.45%.
The airline expanded its operational capacity by introducing one B737-8 MAX aircraft and one A321NEO aircraft while retiring one B737-800 aircraft during the month.
As of the end of July, the airline operated a total transport fleet of 368 aircraft.
Year-to-date cumulative passenger traffic for the first seven months of 2026 edged up 0.33% to 77.7 billion RPK.
