China's drug regulator approved the norovirus in vitro diagnostic reagents manufactured by Guangdong Hybribio Biotech (SHE:300639) subsidiary Guangzhou KBP Pharmaceutical, according to a Friday filing with the Shenzhen bourse.
The reagent detects norovirus GⅠ, GⅡ and GⅣ in human fecal samples, the filing said.
Norovirus causes outbreaks of nonbacterial and foodborne acute gastroenteritis in humans, and causes sporadic diarrhea.
The virus is also the second leading cause of diarrhea in infants and children aged five years and under, the company said.
