GreenIT Starts Production at Two 19-MW Solar Parks in Italy

GreenIT, a joint venture between Plenitude and CDP Equity, has started production at two solar parks in Italy's Piedmont region with a combined installed capacity of about 19 megawatts, Eni said in a statement on Tuesday.

The plants, located in the provinces of Vercelli and Alessandria, are expected to generate about 30 gigawatt-hours of electricity annually.

The projects use about 32,000 high-efficiency bifacial photovoltaic modules mounted on structures equipped with single-axis tracking systems to optimize power generation throughout the day.

The solar parks were developed on sites previously used for extraction activities that were later remediated and redeveloped. The projects have repurposed the former industrial sites for renewable energy generation.

Plenitude, an Eni-controlled company, owns 51% of GreenIT, and CDP Equity owns 49%.

The start of production marks further progress in GreenIT's expansion in Italy's solar sector. The company has more than 300 MW of solar projects at an advanced stage of development, it said.

GreenIT also has solar plants under construction in Campania and Piedmont with a combined capacity of about 30 MW. Those projects are expected to start operations between late 2026 and early 2027.

DoGo Power Expands into Mali with Grid-Forming Energy Storage

DoGo Power said on Monday that it is expanding into Mali with grid-forming energy storage systems as the Chinese power technology company seeks to tap growing demand for more reliable electricity.The energy firm is targeting commercial and industrial customers as well as utility-scale power projects, where its storage systems can be paired with solar and diesel generation to provide backup power and reduce reliance on fuel-fired generation.The country's solar potential offers another incentive for investment. Mali receives over 3,000 hours of sunshine a year on average, providing favorable conditions for combining photovoltaic generation with battery storage.DoGo Power said its grid-forming technology is designed to maintain power for critical loads during grid fluctuations and outages. NANO Nuclear, Enveniam Sign MOU to Explore US Nuclear Fuel, Microreactor Projects
