Grasim Industries (NSE:GRASIM, BOM:500300) said its 45%-owned joint venture AV Group NB will temporarily idle its dissolving-grade pulp facility in Nackawic, New Brunswick, Canada, around the end of October, citing challenging market conditions and broader macroeconomic factors..
The facility has a capacity of about 190,000 tons per year, according to an Indian bourse filing on Friday. AV Group operates two pulp mills in New Brunswick with a combined capacity of about 332,000 tons per year.
Shares of the company rose nearly 1% in recent trade.
