Gran Tierra Energy (GTE) said it has filed a definitive proxy statement with the US Securities and Exchange Commission on Sept. 15, related to its special meeting of stockholders to approve the $1.33 billion sale of its Colombian and Ecuadorian businesses.
The company further said that on Sept. 22, it received approval from holders of its 9.750% senior secured amortizing notes due 2031, satisfying a key condition for the completion of the sale.
The special meeting will be held virtually on Oct. 9, Gran Tierra Energy said, adding that the sale process requires stockholder approval, alongside the regulatory nods in Colombia and Ecuador.
Shares of the company were up 2% in Wednesday trading.
