Globe Metals & Mining (ASX:GBE) said long-running legal proceedings brought by members of the Kanyika community against Globe Metals & Mining (Africa) and the Attorney General of Malawi have been formally withdrawn and discontinued by the claimants, according to a Monday Australian bourse filing.
The withdrawal brings to an end a historical legal claim disclosed as a contingent liability of between AU$603,000 and AU$690,000 in the company's 2025 annual report, the filing added.
Interim Chief Executive and Chief Financial Officer Charles Altshuler said the resolution brings a longstanding legal matter to an end and provides "greater certainty" for the project to continue progressing towards development.
The company's shares fell 2% on market close.
