Geo Energy Resources (SGX:RE4) said its Marga Bara Jaya (MBJ) Integrated Infrastructure commenced operations on July 16, marking the start of its expansion into infrastructure and logistics alongside its coal mining business.
The miner completed the first loading operations from the Triaryani coal mine on Thursday as part of a roughly 50,000-metric-tonne shipment valued at about $3.2 million for a domestic customer.
The 92-kilometer hauling road and jetty infrastructure is expected to support a gradual increase in production at the Triaryani mine to 20 million to 25 million tonnes annually while improving logistics efficiency.
Geo Energy said the new infrastructure is expected to increase the group's annual EBITDA by up to about $350 million.
