-- South Korea-based GasEntec, a global LNG technology and asset company, will supply a jetty-based LNG regasification unit and related onshore infrastructure for the Dakar LNG terminal in Senegal, the Company said in a statement on Tuesday.

The planned terminal is expected to become a flagship LNG import facility in West Africa. It will supply natural gas to a 300-megawatt combined-cycle power plant at Cap des Biches, Senegal's largest power station, as well as to additional power plants, industrial users, and other customers.

The development forms part of Senegal's broader strategy to diversify energy sources, strengthen power reliability, and support economic and industrial expansion, the statement said.

The contract was awarded under an accelerated mandate to address urgent needs in the national power sector. GasEntec said it expects first gas delivery on an expedited timeline, with full terminal operations targeted for the first half of 2027.

Babacar Tall, chief executive officer of ELTON Logistics & Services, said the project marks a significant milestone for the country's energy sector.
