Gamuda's Australian JV Bags AU$624 Million Road Upgrade Project in Australia

A joint venture of Gamuda (KLSE:GAMUDA) has secured an order worth AU$624 million from Transport for New South Wales for the Elizabeth Drive Upgrade - Mamre Road Upgrade Stage 2 project, according to a Monday filing to the Malaysian bourse.

The project has been awarded to Gamuda BMD Joint Venture, a jv between the company's Australian subsidiary Gamuda Engineering and B.M.D Constructions. Gamuda is expected to gain revenue of AU$312 million from the project.

The contract is for the design and construction of civil and structural works to upgrade the existing Elizabeth Drive and Mamre Road at Kemps Creek in Western Sydney, along with associated civil, structural and utility relocation works.

The project is expected to be completed by 2030.

The company's shares were up over 1% in recent trade.

Eternity Investment (HKG:0764) unit Eternity Finance and executive director Lei Hong Wai agreed to sell around 169 million and 18.7 million respective shares in China Healthwise (HKG:0348).The shares, representing an 18.3% and 2% stake in China Healthwise, respectively, were sold to Hwa Sheng International Investment at HK$0.08 apiece, a Friday bourse filing showed.The company will receive a consideration of around HK$13.5 million from the disposal and cease to hold any stake in China Healthwise following completion.Proceeds will be used to repay a margin loan, as well as for general working capital.
