Azule Energy, a joint venture between Italy's Eni (E) and BP (BP), has awarded seamless tubular solutions provider Vallourec with a contract to supply 26,000 tons of seamless carbon steel line to an offshore project in Angola, Vallourec said on Tuesday.
Deliveries of the steel line, which would stretch 210 kilometers, measured end to end, will take place from July 2027 until December 2027 and support "one of the largest and most technically demanding deepwater projects currently underway offshore Angola," Vallourec said.
The Greater PAJ project spans five fields about 200 km offshore Angola in water depths that range between 1,500 and 2,000 meters. Vallourec will deliver line pipe solutions for production lines, service lines, water injection lines and gas export lines for production and transport.
The project will feature one of the thickest thermal insulation systems ever deployed in the subsea industry with up to 120 mm of Glass Syntactic Polypropylene (GSPP).
