Formosa Oilseed Processing (TPE:1225) commented on media reports that it will be fined NT$3 million over an alleged food safety violation, saying it has not received any official sanction notice from authorities.
Media reports said the Taichung City Government planned to impose the fine after crude soybean oil supplied by the company in May was found to contain benzo[a]pyrene (BaP) above the statutory limit, and the company allegedly failed to report the issue as required.
Formosa Oilseed said it will handle the matter in accordance with relevant regulations once it receives any official administrative disposition from the competent authority.
The company added it will continue to cooperate with the authorities and comply with applicable information disclosure requirements.
