Fitch Ratings affirmed Muthoot Finance's (NSE:MUTHOOTFIN, BOM:533398) long-term foreign- and local-currency issuer default ratings at BB+, with a stable outlook, according to a Monday ratings commentary.
The ratings agency cited Muthoot Finance's leadership in gold-backed lending, healthy asset quality, profitability, diversified funding, and liquidity.
Gold-backed loans accounted for 90% of Muthoot Finance's consolidated gross loans as of June 2026, Fitch said.
Fitch also said the company's disciplined lending practices and greater regulatory clarity support its risk profile.
