EyePoint (EYPT) said Monday its Phase 3 Lugano trial testing Duravyu in patients with wet age-related macular degeneration failed to achieve its primary endpoint.
The drug missed the main visual acuity goal in the complete dataset because of a patient subgroup with vision loss unrelated to the condition, the company said.
However, Duravyu demonstrated non-inferiority to control treatment aflibercept in an ad hoc analysis that excluded those patients, EyePoint said.
The company said it expects topline data from a second Phase 3 trial in Q4 and foresees a potential regulatory submission in H1 2027.
Shares of the company fell more than 65% in recent premarket activity Monday.
